The "Fishocratic Oath": Why We Fish Differently at Fishing Rebels

Fishing Puerto Vallarta, Fishing Rebels
Fishing Puerto Vallarta, Fishing Rebels

If you’ve ever stepped foot on one of our decks, you know we don't just "go fishing." We live for the strike, the salt spray, and the look on a guest's face when a 150lb Yellowfin decides it wants to play tug-of-war.

But there’s a reason people call us the Rebels. In a sea of cookie-cutter charters, we do things a bit differently. Here’s a look behind the curtain at what makes a day with Fishing Rebels more than just a boat ride.

1. Beyond the Catch: The Community Connection

Fishing is our soul, but Puerto Vallarta is our home. We’re proud to announce our continued partnership with Vallarta Cares. Whether we’re donating a portion of the day’s catch to local families in need or supporting the Knights Softball team, we believe a "Rebel" always gives back. When you fish with us, you’re helping feed and support the vibrant community that makes these waters so special.

2. Gear That Actually Works (No "Broken Promises")

There is nothing worse than losing a trophy Marlin because of a bird-nested reel or a frayed line. We follow the Fishocratic Oath:

  • Top-Tier Equipment: We’re currently rocking the latest Penn Slammer IV reels and custom-tuned rods.

  • Honest Reports: If the bite is slow in the bay, we’ll tell you straight. We’d rather take you 40 miles out to where the tuna are boiling than stay close and take your money for a "scenic tour."

3. Boat-to-Table: The Ultimate Ceviche

You haven’t lived until you’ve tasted Chef Oscar’s legendary onboard ceviche. Imagine this: you pull in a beautiful Dorado, and twenty minutes later, you’re eating it with fresh lime, cilantro, and a cold beverage while overlooking Los Arcos. That’s not a meal; that’s a core memory.

4. 2026 Season Outlook: What’s Biting?

We’re seeing some incredible action this year. The Pacific has been generous, and we’re currently seeing:

  • Offshore: Massive Blue and Black Marlin are patrolling the deep.

  • Inshore: Roosterfish and Snapper are keeping the light-tackle fans very busy.

  • Night Ops: Ask us about our overnight trips—there’s nothing like the "midnight bite" under a Jalisco moon.

"We don't just find the fish; we teach you how to win the fight." — Jonny Ocean
